A little more about Amy Macy.

A note from the author…

Where to begin… Ever since I was six years old I have wanted to be a writer. When you’re six you believe anything is possible. The real world hasn’t stolen your thunder yet. Those young years as a child are so great because everyone around you gives you a free hall pass to dream. Why, because you’re just a kid. Then we grow older and the reality of the real world takes away the dreams of a six year old. I have had stories swirling around in my head all my life. My imagination has gotten me through some tough times. The story you are about to read took root in my imagination in 2005 and it has continued to grow since then. I think it was in the winter of 2009 I met one of my BFF’s Dawn Olson at a Perkin’s. She is now my editor and business manager, oh and my biggest cheerleader. I nervously showed her some rough chapters of this book. I very rarely showed my work to anyone. She read them as I anxiously ate apple pie awaiting her opinion. With a very matter a fact tone she said, this is good and then asked why I wasn’t trying to make my writing a reality. I didn’t really have an answer other than fear and I thought I needed help. So we came up with a plan and I started writing After Dark The Shadow Guard Chronicles. Well here I am taking a chance and deciding to try and steal back the thunder of a once six year old girl. It’s scary because I have kept it a pretty close secret as I was writing this book. Dawn however tells almost everyone she talks to. I never would have gotten this far if it wasn’t for her. So I say thank you to my dear friend Dawn who won’t let me quit and my boyfriend Jim who didn’t laugh or think I was crazy when I told him I was writing a book. He just kept asking “Are you done yet? Are you done yet?” God bless them both.So I hope you enjoy the book and remember it’s just fiction. Let me help you get lost in this imaginary world. I hope you fall in love with the characters that have become very dear to me. I say if you can’t have fun in fiction, where can you have fun. Enjoy!P.S.Although we have tried our very best to edit this book to perfection, but as we are not perfect we might have missed some things. It’s a small operation just Dawn and myself.
